October red

The Virginia creeper on the garden wall goes through every colour in a week. I try to catch it every year and every year I think it was better last year.

After sunset

Blue hour from the top of the hill. Phone on a fence post, held my breath, hoped for the best.

The meadow nobody mows

There is a corner of the field behind the allotments that nobody mows. By June it is waist-high and full of ox-eye daisies, clover, sorrel and about a million insects.

Fern season

For about two weeks in June the bracken is new, soft and impossibly green, before it turns into the tough stuff that grabs your ankles for the rest of the year.

Blossom before the rain

First post! I've been meaning to put my pictures somewhere that isn't a hard drive in a drawer, so here we are.
